Begardeh Rug Ref 708098
This antique rural handmade rug, approximately 40 years old, is an authentic example of the Bagherdeh weavings from Tuyserkan, clearly reflecting the local identity and the geometric structure typical of carpets from this area. Measuring 238 × 150 cm with an area of 3.57 square meters in a well-proportioned rectangular format, it is a practical choice for medium to large spaces. The weave density is 30 raj, indicating a well-balanced combination of strength, pattern clarity, and a comfortable surface feel. The rug weighs approximately 15 kg, and considering an average of 4 kg per square meter, it offers a dense and durable structure. Wool pile together with cotton warp and weft enhances the natural feel and authenticity of the weave. The corner-medallion (Lachak-Toranj) design with orderly geometric motifs is executed on a navy-blue ground, and the matching navy border completes the rug’s visual coherence. Lion motifs appear at the bottom and top of the field like protective guardians, and bird motifs are woven into the corner panels. This piece is a valuable option for those who appreciate authentic rural rugs with a calm, enduring character.
