Begardeh Rug Ref 708116
This antique handmade Tuiserkan carpet, approximately 40 years old and woven in the authentic Begerdeh style, is a well-crafted example of Iran’s rural weaving tradition, offering a strong visual identity through its corner-and-medallion (Lachak–Toranj) design and geometric motifs. Measuring 238 × 153 cm with a total area of 3.65 square meters, this rectangular rug is a practical and striking choice for medium to large living spaces. The navy-blue field combined with a matching navy border creates a deep, formal composition that allows the motifs to appear with greater dignity. A knot density of 30 raj provides a balanced relationship between design refinement and everyday durability. The wool pile, together with cotton warp and weft, delivers both warmth and softness while ensuring good stability on the floor. An approximate weight of 15 kilograms, averaging 4 kilograms per square meter, indicates reliable density and a solid structural build. Chemical dyeing further enhances color stability for long-term use.
