Bijar Rug Ref 102507
This vintage half-meter handwoven rug, with an age of approximately 60 years, is a distinguished example of authentic Bijar Afshar weaving. Measuring 70 × 60 cm with an area of about 0.42 square meters, it features a very dense structure woven at 50 rows, reflecting the high level of craftsmanship and exceptional structural strength for which Bijar rugs are renowned—often referred to in Iranian carpet tradition as the “Iron Carpet.” The all-over Mahi pattern, arranged in a precise and geometric layout, clearly expresses the regional identity of the piece. A red ground combined with a dark blue border creates a deep and visually striking contrast. The use of high-quality wool pile alongside cotton warp and weft ensures durability and stable placement. Despite its small size, the approximate weight of 2 kilograms and compact construction make this rug a valuable choice for collectors, curated interiors, and limited spaces.
