Augmented Reality LinkThis rural handwoven carpet of Farahan origin is an authentic example of classical Iranian weaving, combining structural simplicity with rich decorative motifs. Measuring 326 × 213 cm with an area close to 7 square meters, it is well suited for spacious interiors and traditional or eclectic settings. A knot density of 30 raj, together with the use of hand-spun wool, creates a warm, resilient, and well-set pile, while the cotton warp and weft contribute to durability and structural cohesion. The all-over design, featuring a regular repetition of boteh (paisley) motifs without a central focus, establishes a calm and continuous rhythm across the field—one of the defining characteristics of Farahan carpets. The madder-red ground paired with a navy border, achieved through vegetable dyes, offers natural and lasting color depth, and the tea-wash process lends the carpet a soft, gently aged appearance aligned with contemporary tastes.
