Sarouak Rug Ref 708091
This antique handwoven runner, measuring approximately two and a half meters in length, is an authentic example of rural weaving from Sarouk, with an age of around 60 years that has enhanced its visual and cultural value over time. With dimensions of 248 × 117 cm and an area of 2.91 m², it is well suited for hallways, elongated spaces, or placement alongside furniture. A knot density of 30 raj reflects an orderly structure and reliable weaving quality. Its approximate weight of 12 kg, with an average of 4 kg per square meter, provides a balanced combination of durability and flexibility. The floral corner-medallion (lachak–toranj) design on a madder-red ground with a navy border gives the rug a deep, classic appearance and clearly expresses Sarouk’s well-known visual identity. The use of natural (vegetal) dyes has allowed the colors to mature gracefully over time, achieving a soft, harmonious patina. Wool pile combined with cotton warp and weft ensures high durability and the warm, authentic feel characteristic of antique Iranian rugs.
