Augmented Reality LinkThis handwoven carpet, dating back approximately 40 years, is an authentic example of rural weaving from the Zanjan region, structured around geometric order and the classic corner-and-medallion design. Measuring 208 × 125 cm with a total area of 2.6 square meters, it is a balanced choice for living rooms, home offices, or medium-sized yet distinctive interiors. A knot density of 30 raj indicates a well-disciplined and carefully executed weave which, combined with a wool pile and cotton warp and weft, provides durability and practical performance. The composition is visually strong and direct: the field is organized around a central polygonal medallion, surrounded by angular, stepped outlines that extend toward the corner motifs. Repeating geometric patterns and small symbolic elements create a rhythmic and dynamic structure on the lacquer-based ground. Abstracted natural motifs—such as simplified leaves and branches—reinforce the local character of the design. The main border, articulated with repeating boteh motifs and precise framing, unifies the overall structure and establishes visual balance through warm, dark tones. The contrast between the lacquer ground and darker lines enhances depth and legibility. With an approximate weight of 11 kg and an average of 4 kg per square meter, the carpet offers reliable structural strength alongside suitable flexibility. The navy ground contrasted with a blue border creates a calm, deep, and well-balanced appearance, making this rug a distinctive and powerful example of rural Iranian weaving.
