Augmented Reality LinkThis five-meter nomadic handwoven carpet, with an age of approximately 40 years, presents an authentic expression of the weaving traditions of Fars Province and the ancient designs of Shiraz. Measuring 283 × 183 cm with an area of 5.18 m², it is well suited to spacious interiors and classic or eclectic layouts. Its multiple-medallion structure, composed of orderly geometric motifs, creates a dynamic rhythm across the entire surface and guides the eye from the center toward the borders. The 30-raj construction ensures that the medallions and broken-line elements appear with notable clarity and visual strength. In the field, a vertical sequence of diamond-shaped medallions defines the rug’s identity. Three main medallions aligned along the center are each enclosed by precise geometric frames, containing cruciform, four-petal, and symmetrical broken motifs—elements traditionally associated in Fars nomadic weaving with concepts of protection, balance, and cosmic order. The central medallion dominates in scale, while the upper and lower medallions mirror it, completing the visual rhythm. The lacquer-red ground is filled with evenly distributed small geometric, star-like, and abstract floral motifs—often referred to in Shiraz weaving as filler patterns or nomadic micro-motifs. Angular corner spandrels respond to the medallion forms, and the multi-band border features repeating geometric and symbolic motifs, including hook-like and protective elements. A wool pile combined with a wool warp and cotton weft provides a warm, flexible, and durable structure; an approximate weight of 16 kg reflects a balanced density for practical use. The lacquer-red field paired with a brown border creates a deep, intimate atmosphere that strongly emphasizes the rug’s nomadic identity.
